Last Posts!

This has been such a great semester! I've learned so much from EDM 310 that I look foward to sharing all with my future class, as well as just being able to use the techniques and skills for everyday use. Thank you, Dr. Strange for being such a great teacher and being able to teach everything in a way that couldn't have been easier. I hate that the semester had to end so soon, but I have taken away a full life lessons worth of skills.

Lisa's webpage is great! I loved ALL Disney movies growing up as a child and her page really just exhibited the greatness behind Walt Disney's work! I wish I would have had the creativity that she did! IT was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rhonda Baron's Webpage

I really enjoyed the webpage that Mrs. Baron created. Its so neat to see that some of her favorite movie's were children's movies. I guess when you have 3 kids you really have no choice than to have a love for their movies as well. Her webpage was put together nicely...to this day I still can't get all my pictures to show up on the homepage but they will show up when you click on there buttons. Who know's what I did wrong!! Ha. But anywho....I really enjoyed your page, Mrs. Baron.

While it is true that all music activities require active listening, the act of listening to a new piece of music and describing what you hear requires a unique set of skills and knowledge.
Illinois Fine Arts Goal 25A requires all students to understand the sensory elements, organizational principles and expressive qualities of the arts. In the same vein, National Standard #6 in music expects that children are listening to, analyzing, and describing music.
The way students describe what they hear varies with age, experience, and the type of music involved. In the primary grades, students use movement, pictures, and simple music vocabulary to express the perceived sound. Upper grade students use their increasing vocabulary skills to discuss and write about what they notice as well as the mood the piece evokes. They also learn to sing and play the music when appropriate

This is Westlawn Elementary School. I worked here last year and the Fall semester of this year. I loved being with the kids here; it was like a breath of fresh air ( not everyday) but I knew teaching was something I really wanted to do. I worked with a teacher by the name of Jada Cooper. She is one of the best teachers that I have seen in action. Her kids learn so much and they really adore her. I would love to do my student teaching and observation with her. I would love to learn Mrs. Cooper's techniques and tricks of the trade when it comes to kids!!

Been a while!!

Hey guys and girls out there...I'm back!!! Its very true I haven't been out here in a while but the past few weeks have been crazy! I found out recently that I have a medical problem(its nothing too serious). I was told that my thyroid was over active. By having this problem, it keeps me tired and weak until my body becomes immune to the medicine that I am taking, but I will not let that bring me down. I just wanted to update all of you and let you all know that I will be on top of my game and will be getting back on track!!! OH yea...i love this blogging. It keeps me updated with all you and I can update you all, too. Well See ya

My "21st" Birthday

So as you may can tell I had the Best "21" Birthday ever!!! Well, you only get one! Anywho, all my friends were apart of it and they made it so special!! We went to a party on Friday nite and had lots of fun, I had a skating party on Saturday nite, and after that We went to church on Sunday. THe whole weekend was great, starting on Thursday nite when my firends and I went to see Nikki Giovanni speak....it was Great!
Just wanted to drop by and let you all know that everything went well for My "21" Birthday!!!

Just to Inform You!!! FYI

I would like to inform you all that I am having a 21st birhtday, Saturday, January 20, 2007. I am so glad that I am able to be turning this age because I am first of all I will be legal, able to drink (responsibly), and just be an older age.....with age comes wisdom!!! Just wanted to let you know!!
